    THIS IS AN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE COPPERPLATE PRINT PRODUCED BY MASTER ENGRAVER HENDRIK SPILMAN (1721-1784) IN 1746 FROM A PAINTING BY MASTER ARTIST JAN DE BEYER (1703-1780).  IT IS A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF WORLD-CLASS PRINTING ARTISTRY OF THE PERIOD IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS MEASURES APP. 8 x 18" OVERALL.
    THIS IS A HIGH QUALITY PRINT WITH SHARP DETAIL.
    THE PRINT WAS CREATED ALMOST 280 YEARS AGO BY CARVING THE IMAGE ONTO A PLATE OF COPPER ( HENCE THE NAME ). THE PLATE WAS THEN COVERED IN PRINTER'S INK AND PRESSED TO THE PAPER YOU SEE HERE. IT CARRIES THE ORIGINAL PUBLISHING INFORMATION IN THE LOWER PORTION OF THE PLATE.
