    Description

A very hard to find video game - rarity 10 out of 10 - no boxed copies are known to exist until now! This a vintage space themed LED game called Galaxy Game II from the 2001 Galaxy Series, made in Taiwan 1981 by Galaxy Electronics - a company that seems to have existed solely for the production of a mini-series of LED toys (laser guns etc) and 3 video games. Galaxy Game I (less rare), Space Invaders (damn rare), and this Galaxy Game II (insanely rare). Each game was released with variations in chassis color - tan, white, and black - as well as minor differences in the stickers/screens/controls. The only info I could find online about Galaxy Game II was from an ad placed in Hobby Electronics magazine July 1981 (see last photo).
The box is pretty nice but has a good amount of wear to edges corners and flaps. The original styrofoams and instructions booklet are very nice. The game works great and is very clean all around, wasn't played much however one side sticker is missing and some stickers on the controls are ripped and missing. These types of switches are tough to slide, and that means it causes excessive wear to the nearby stickers, and also the stickers are cheaper quality than your average game from this era. We made scans of the one side sticker which is still there (right side) - we can share that file with the buyer if you'd like to print out another sticker for the missing side (left side).
The game plays very fast and uses those tiny LED dots much like a Mattel Football game. In fact the hardware circuitry is so similar to Mattel's that it wouldn't be surprising to find they copied or reverse-engineered theirs (we didn't open the game case to check). The game features 3 modes and can be played with 1 or 2 players simultaneously. Games are pretty fun with blips bleeps sound and the high speed input/output, one mode is kinda like Frogger and another like Simon
, the last mode you have to shoot oncoming missiles, which is pretty cool for 2 player competition.
For serious game collectors - you may never see another boxed copy of Galaxy Game II for sale!
